Using dreamweaver as my design tool, I simply switch to remote view and GET the entire site. If you PUT an empty folder, you could empty your site, so dont do that!!!
If you are archiving, create a new site using the assistant but designate your backup folder as the local folder - ignore the warnings that it doesnt match. When you are finished the local folder is empty, as long as you set up the ftp info the same, follow my above instruction and it will duplicate the entire site, hidden files and all.

use what you have before you go nuts shopping!

Plus, when it comes to numbers, there is no room for error.
Excel truly is the standard in this case (actually doing a good job).
You trust Excel? (Or for that matter Mesa or Google Spreadsheets?)
Try this:
In a new spreadsheet, give the cell A1 the value of 0.2
In A2 enter the formula '=A1*6-1' (the calculated value will also be 0.2)
Then copy this formula to A3 down to ca A40.
For every cell you should get 0.2 as a result, since 0.2 (the result of the cell above) times 6 minus 1 is 0.2. Right?
Right? Try it in Excel, try it in Mesa, try it in Google Spreadsheets.
And then repeat after me:
"I will never again blindly believe in spreadsheet calculations"
[edit: corrected typo, thanks MrSmith! - repeat after me "I will never again blindly believe jobberwacky postings ;-)]

I think that local connection is what they used - cool stuff. Is that in MX 2004 or the newest version?
clayj - that works in the single flash object on your page - layers in the same main file. What local connection is doing is having two or more separate flash objects on a page among regular html text and images and communicating between them.

Choose Utilities from menu bar when it will appear. You'll find Disk Utility there.

@Wrsford on twitter might have really JB'd it. Doesn't really seem like an April Fool's joke to me.
Dunno, though.

I saw people setting up camp the night before at 9:00 PM. I don't want to be that far towards the end and besides I'm going to be working while camping out so it's win/win :)
9:00 PM? I can beat that.
Just let me know what time you'll go because i'm going alone and need someone to hold my spot while I utilize the local QFC's facilities :D

Dang. I need to pick up my Macbook pro that's back from repairs today.
Hopefully I don't have to wait in line.

The reason MacBU has had to abandon VBA is that the Mac compiler won't work on Intel Macs. And Microsoft has already announced that VBA is being deprecated on Windows (it will go on working for a few years, then will end). So there's no point devoting enormous efforts to making a new compiler only for it all to go away shortly afterwards. There is some reason to believe that eventually VB.NET will work on the Mac as it does on Windows, as a cross-platform solution. Until then, VBA macros need to be translated to AppleScript. There can be no better signal that MacBU is committeed to the Mac than to see the huge investment they have made in AppleScript. Office's AppleScript is already working as of Office and it mirrors the VBA model identically: macros can be translated to AppleScript _now_, and will then "just work" in the next version of Office too.
Interesting information.
So Office 2004 AppleScript can translate VB on the fly (and 2007 VB can translate AppleScript), or that's the goal and we aren't there yet?
If they can keep the scripting compatible, then I can definitely see a plus in dropping VB for Mac Office.

Wrong way round - it's userland, therefore WILL be tethered. See explanation here:
http://bit.ly/gN060d
actually, there are untethered userland jailbreaks. Look at the jailbreakme.com exploit from 4.0 / 4.0.1 for the iPhone 4.

I had been using my MBP all morning with no problems. I shut the screen and let it go into sleep mode for about an hour before I went back to get on it. At first I thought it just wasn't waking up from sleep mode, because the screen just stayed black but the fans booted up and I could hear it running. So, I shut the lid again, opened, and nothing.
Tried rebooting. The screen stays black the entire time, and I hear the faint sound of the start up sound. When I close the screen, the light at the front doesn't do the "breathing" that it does when in sleep mode. It just stays lit.
Does this sound like a display problem, or some other issue? Any ideas/suggestions?
Weird. The exact same thing happened to me today. Mine is an early 08 model... Will check the link.
Edit... I was afraid that was going to be what the link said. Friggen 8600.

With my 5870 I've been able to crank SC2 and Portal up to the very max on every setting without any lag (and that's on OS X.)
No idea how it compares to the iMac, but the short answer is "It will run almost all the games out right now perfectly."

and where do you get that info?
The iPhone 3Gs has an ARM type 7 CPU. It is the first iDevice to have one, with the iPod Touch 2G being the last type 6. Apple no longer includes the type 6 instruction set. Similar to how Snow Leopard no longer works on PPC Macs. The iPhone 3Gs was also the first iDevice to have the PowerVR SGX535 GPU. The iPod Touch 2G was the last to have the PowerVR MBX Lite 3D. The driver kext is no longer in the firmware and its doubtful that the 4.2.1 one would work.
Furthermore, Apple doesn't sign the soft SHSH for 4.3 and none of the jailbreaking tools out support it. So unless the OP wrote his own method for jailbreaking 4.3 and getting around the soft SHSH, he has just faked his firmware and build number.

Hi
Asking 1900$
I'm selling my few month old Macbook Pro. It is the newest generation MBP with:
15.4 inch matte screen
2.4ghz 3MB cache Penryn Processor
2 Gigabytes of RAM
200 Gigabytes of Hard Drive
256MB nVidia geForce 8600 Pro
MULTI-TOUCH TRACKPAD
It is in absolutely MINT condition, as I have babied it completely. It looks as if it's brand new out of the box.
The battery lasts between 4-5 hours depending on the type of usage, which is unheard of in this size class of laptops.
The laptop will come in its original box with all original accessories, CDs, etc. It will come with:
- Shipping box (the box it was shipped in)
- Original box
- Magsafe Power adapter
- Power adapter extension
- Cleaning cloth
- Leopard installation disks
Email me with any questions! Thanks!
**EDIT: Almost forgot to say that the 1 year Applecare warranty ends on March 7 2009! You also have until then to extend it to 3 years if you'd like.

I'm considering getting a new iPod. I have a 20 GB, non color iPod right now. I was considering a Nano, but I want more space so I can use the iPod to back up my home folder as well. But I'm afraid new, sleeker and slimmer iPods are just around the corner. I don't need somthing as tiny as the Nano since I tend to only use it in the car but I wouldn't mind a 60 GB iPod that was the size of a mini. So, buy or wait?

What are the chances of seeing this on e.g. Windows anytime soon? It would really broaden the connections and usefulness of the quite neat piece of app. Anything new on this case?

ok I just got a 500gb pro drive and plugged it in. it asked if I wanted to use it as a time machine i clicked decide later. then opened time machine time machine told me a disk to select and when i went over my pro drive 500gb it says: "ProDrive reformat required (incompatible file system)" yet when I select it it says I can use it as a time machine...... also when I try and drag files into it it just wont copy them in.......
so whats wrong here? I would like to use it but seem to not be able to..... how do iI reformat it? for mac compatible use.
( link to the specific drive: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DGZ05A/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d6_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=06QWW2Y3B8WZE1VSB440&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=507846 )
P.S it said it was mac compatible out of the box.... guess not :(
EDIT #1: just opened it and right clicked and hit "get info" and it says its in the "Windows NT file system (NTFS)" so it looks like i have to reformat it? how do I go about doing so.......

History Will Write :
1) The mistake was Microsoft competing with the Creative Zen (remember it).
2) The result is Microsoft killed both products;
3) The Zen had the market share (US and Internationally)
4) MS entered late, never really in the international marketplace, US only.
5) Both competing with the iPod that was global, was a mistake.
